Doctor Update and WOW.... What a Support Group
First and foremost I want to give everyone what they are waiting for, Craig's update. We went to the Pain Management Doctor today and he is mixing up a pain "cocktail" of medication to help Craig manage his pain. He will start on it tonight and try it until Tuesday when we see the doctor again. However, if Craig has any problems we are to call him day or night. He also gave him a topical spray for us to use when I change and clean his wound. YEAH! That will make me hurt him a lot less. Mentally better for me.
Then as soon as insurance will allow, he wants to go back in and "dissolve" another nerve or more??? We will know more after Tuesday. Craig finally gave me the percentage of improvement....25%. That is all the relief he has gotten in the one location. But he is having more pain in other locations from the switch in meds.
He has lost another 2.5 pounds. They are thinking about giving him a medication to stimulate his appetite, but he may need approval from work to go on it.
Next, I have to say PATTI if you are reading this please call me. 636-926-8550 or email me at cskozicki@gmail.com, I would love to help you with your sisters recent diagnosis. Your blog meant so much. Just when I thought nobody really listened or cared, you blogged in and showed that each one of us does have a voice and can make a difference. I have been screaming and shouting for 10 years to government officials and newpaper and TV journalist to get the word out about asbestos and it's dangers. Yet, I reached you unknowingly through this blog.... so maybe I should keep screaming, but I should just keep typing too!
Because my mission is to reach out and help as many people as I can, regardless how they are reached. So thank you Patti!
To my never ending support system! WOW!!! I guess I must have scared you guys. No, kidding aside, it has been rough. But it is so reassuring knowing that when I did really let loose (and I did) you all come running. Phone calls, emails and blogs. Thank you. I needed each and every one of them. I heard from people who I didn't even know were reading anymore! That was really awesome. Sooo many people are still out there reading, praying and believing. You all have given me new strength. Cancer took away a precious day from me, but I am going to try harder to not let it steal anymore! If I get weak, you will be the first to know!
JULIE UPDATE: Julie was strong enough to go back into surgery today. Chabot debulked as much cancer as he could and she is doing better. That is about all the information I have. Keep her and her family in your prayers.
