My turn!

Craig is so short and to the point....MEN!!  I am battling a horrible cold so I didn't even go to chemo with him, I didn't want to get anyone there sick(er).  So I had Craig blog and his is right but I will fill in some spots.

We went to see Dr. Chabot who thought he could do a nerve block with steriods.  However, that has a 10% chance of causing an infection since it is so close to an open wound.  And in Craig's case, Craig did not want to take that chance.  So he tried to find the nerve further away from his wound and inject it with lidocane (sp) to see if that would numb it for a couple of days and if it did then the next time we came in he would just do an in office surgery.  I would get to assist and we would we would go in about 1/2 inch find the nerve and cut it.  BUT, Craig is not getting the relief from the injection...

Dr. Chabot did pull up the films (without a report) and looked at them and measured the tumor and said he thought the tumor looked stable, possibly a "bit" smaller.  He said to continue to debris the wound as I have been and we will see him at our next treatment.  Big hugs and off we went.

Craig went to Dr. Taub for his chemo on his own.  So all I know is what he told me.  The tumor looked stable, perhaps a bit smaller.  What I am looking at when I am cleaning it is just the tip of the iceburg.  I could plainly see that on the MRI scans that I looked at with Dr. Chabot.

Craig got 1 chemo drug, but not the Oxy, which is the one that really does the job.  So we need prayers for his liver enzymes to drop back into the 200's in two weeks.  He is hanging by his fingernails to stay in protocol!!  We need him to eat more so he can get off this TPN and then I think his liver would recover faster.  He is just so uncomfortable when he eats.  I think we are going to talk to Dr. Cort about taking him off for a week and see if the TPN is making him NOT want to eat.  He can take oral vitamins, drink, then they can draw blood and see if he is holding his own.  Of course I WILL be watching his weight too!  He is only 174 with TPN as it is.

So now you have my story.....a bit longer and just a few added detail
