Surprise visitor
I was having a bad day on Friday. It was the first time I was home alone, Craig went to work and my mom went to see my dad. I found myself feeling very afraid and alone. I talked to Emily on the phone and she was very helpful and got me through a rough period in my day.
The next thing I knew she had driven all the way home to surprise me and help with decorating the Christmas tree!
What a wonderful surprise and great family moment. She had to turn around and leave after lunch on Saturday for the big MIZZOU game. But it meant so much to me that she came home when I really needed an emotional boost. I guess she is growing up because when you can rely on them and they realize the world doesn't always revolve around them and their needs, you realize your child is now a responsible adult. It was day that meant so much to me...a small gesture, but a huge impact.
She also brought me the most special ornament to hang on the tree. It is a had painted snowman by a local artist that is fairly contemporary and has the work "believe" written on it's belly. Needless to say it is front and center on our tree!
I am feeling better now. (although I haven't been alone again yet!) I guess somedays are just going to be harder than others. So to my friends out there...you could be getting a desperate phone call.
I love you Emily!!
