Thurday Update

Craig is amazing.  He is up walking, back on a regular diet and took a 2 hour conference call!!  He is sore and the large gaping hole is a bit intimidating....but I am up to the task.  The skin is removed down to his muscle layer and then the drain is running under that.  You can see where it enters and then where it comes out of the 2 fistula then back under his skin to the other side of his body into a vacuum bulb.  This will need to be changed and cleaned at least daily maybe more, I haven't gotten my orders yet.

I went out to dinner with the Miracle House group and met a new Meso patients daughter.  I spoke to her for over an hour.  She really needed some information.  I was glad that I went tonight, I usually don't go.  She had never even heard of the Meso Foundation.  So she is getting on the internet tonight to get some positive info.

Emily is dropping that class and taking an internet class.  She is still going to talk to the Dean about the incident.  I hope that he is supportive of her.

The Dr's. are planning on releasing Craig on Monday and I made a flight home for Tuesday.  If all goes well, we will land about 3:00 I think.  We are still waiting for some cultures and hoping no infections come into play.  I did forget to say that Dr. Chabot did run into dense tumor, low in Craig's pelvis.  He tried to remove as much as he could without digging around causing more problems.  So I am sure Craig will be in for treatments after he gains strength and heals.  This did not show up very well on the CT. (scary)

I am going to call it an early night.  Thank you for the emails and call of concern and support.  It means a lot to Craig, Emily and myself.

BELIEVING...Shelly
