Clarence, Tom, CD's, and Asparagus
Hi Kozicki's. Before I commence, I just want for everyone to think of the "It's A Wonderful Life" movie...cause Clarence is always watching out for Craig. And now, because of Craig, I was able to meet Tom...and someday…the many others. Don't ever forget that the people that "touch" you have a far-reaching grip. If our ES&H Global Conference (here at Trenton) happened last year at this time, Tom & I would have been strangers in passing. So this is the web of friendships that form…all because of Craig. There's always positives from any event.
Thanks for the kind words Tom. It was an honor & pleasure to meet the individual that made so many people bond as one Army. Craig's Army.
Wow…talk about similar minds thinking alike. After I met Tom on Wednesday, I started writing some thoughts about our short visit together. Here's some of my notes:
1) I have to say...when I heard Tom was in town, I was on a mission. Funny, but when you talk & E-mail & blog for 7 months...and NEVER see the person...it is bizarre & worth the wait.
2) So now there's only 143 bloggers left to meet. From all the blog pix I saw over the past 5 months, I figured out everybody except 2 people.
3) Tom had 2 MARF bracelets on. A blue one & a yellow one. What does that tell you? Mine is hanging in plain view on my home computer table I built.
4) We talked about the blog party & history.
5) We talked about life's precious resources...kids...especially DEE-TROIT-SAUCE!!! (I will NEVER forget this). I chuckle every time I see it. So did we.
6) We discussed Craig's modesty & stubbornness, which WE all accept...except Craig...so...park close to your office without second thoughts. Humble is one thing...the Kozicki smarts is another. NO ONE has a problem with it.
7) I had to ask Tom if he went to bed on time his first day here...he said that was the plan...but I'm proud to say...he failed...kinda closed the bar...wished I was there.
8) When I talked to Craig on Tuesday...he asked me to relay a message to Tom...and I quote "Tell Tom to get his ass back home because I'm not paying for all his boondoggling". I did relay the message. Almost as funny as the DEE-TROIT-SAUCE!!!
Lastly…as for the care package…music has been a passion of mine ever since 1967 when I listened to Keener 13 (WKNR) and bought my first album in 1973 (Alice Cooper - Billion Dollar Babies). To be realistic, my tastes are beyond eclectic...only way I can describe it. I still have 1500 albums (i.e. those 12" round black things with grooves in them) and over 2000 CD's. My brother's tastes are skewed from mine (still good music though) and he has about 1500 CD's. So that's a combined arsenal of 3500 CD's. So my theory in life...spread the wealth. As Craig can vouch…I can blow the covers right off my speakers…or mellow out on a whim. I have to say I'm not to much of a gospel, pure rap, and (yes!!) C&W dude. However, my tastes are dynamic, regardless of music style. Example --> two weeks ago I rented the movie Nashville for the first time (made in 1975). The next day, I bought the soundtrack off Amazon.com. If anyone wants to hear a song that just oozes with enjoyment, just listen to Barbara Harris's song at the end of the movie "It Don't Worry Me". And Ronee Blakely is no slouch either. OK, then I listened to Iggy Pop & the Stooges, R.E.M, and Social Distortion...and blew my speaker covers off. Oh yeah...I drank an entire bottle of wine during the CD burning process.
Lastly again…for those Science & Engineering majors. I cut this out of the Detroit News comic section. I had to chuckle because my buddy's sister always asked me about the bodily function impact of asparagus. Just because I are an ingineer doesn't mean I know the chemical composition changes that transpires through the bladder to Mr. Johnson (or Mrs. Johnson). So I guess this science article finally explains it. I suppose if you tell your little kids this...they might eat their veggies!!!
Go Craig & Family. Enjoy the Aruba trip immensely. Clarence will be watching. L&T, Peat & Family. DEE-TROIT-SAUCE!!! :>
