Winter Fun
How can it be December 6 already?!! Boy, I must be having lots of fun because time surely is flying....
We were blessed this weekend to have electricity except for a brief period in the middle of the ice storm on Thursday night. I worked from home on Friday until my son and his family showed up at the door because they had lost power at his in-laws in St. Louis. They were supposed to leave Friday to go back to Colorado after being here for almost 2 weeks. So I got to enjoy all of them most of the day Friday; they left early Saturday morning and drove 16 hours straight to get home. ugghh.
Also spent 4 hours in the ER with my daughter, who slipped on some water at WalMart and sprained her hand badly. She's going back to her workshop today. Then my husband got sick on Sunday and stayed home Monday and Tuesday (unheard of for him to miss work!!).
We played hotel and restaurant over the weekend to some friends without power. Linda S lost power Thursday night, got power back Sunday but her furnace wasn't working, so by the time all that got taken care of, she finally got heat yesterday evening! She stayed Saturday night, Sunday afternoon and brought the kids here to stay Monday night. Had some good friends here all day Sunday because their "power-less" adventure wasn't any fun any more. They got power back Sunday night. It was a fun weekend and we felt blessed for being able to help out friends in need.
I've only seen Craig once at work--he's hiding in the department I think. Shelly, you know the bloggers will be back in full force next week--and that prayers continue even if the "globs" have slowed down a little.
Our trees have lost all their ice and even the one that was bent over touching the ground is now back up and looks none the worse for the storm.
Have a great rest of the week everyone.
